Last year we delivered over 5,100 babies and we reached a point where we had outgrown our old building. In order to continue delivering high quality care, it was necessary to relocate to a new, larger facility. Our new maternity unit provides you with improved facilities including more spacious rooms. There are eight en-suite delivery rooms in addition to a purpose-built unit led by Midwives. For women with high risk pregnancies, there are two specifically designed rooms on the Delivery Unit. The wards are spacious, with increased en-suite facilities, single rooms and four-bedded bays. The increase in facilities also allows us to deliver an additional 800 babies each year. Saint Mary’s neonatal services offer a very specialist services for very sick preterm and term newborn infants who need complex intensive medical and surgical care. Our Newborn Intensive Care facility is a high-tech environment which enables the delivery of quality care with a patient focus and within a parent centred environment. The unit provides an increased number of cots in an improved setting enabling staff to optimise care of the sick newborn infant. Amongst other services that moved are Genetics, Gynaecology, the Sexual Assault Referral Centre and Radiology. They are all benefitting from an improvement in facilities and space. In-patient areas have seen a large increase in en-suite and single room facilities. All out-patient clinics are also situated on the ground floor to allow easy access. » Download our map
